Setting workbook properties
Using Workbook Properties you can control the settings for the workbook that apply to all worksheets in the workbook.
To set workbook properties:
- Select the command.
- In the View Keep Alive Interval (minutes) box, enter the number of minutes that Excel Services should wait between user activity before sending a notice to the web server that the views on the worksheet are still in use. The default is set to 5 minutes.
- Select Refresh views on workbook open if you want views in the workbook to be automatically refreshed when a user opens the workbook. We recommend not automatically refreshing workbooks when opened if there are more than 3 - 5 views in the workbook. This improves performance when the view is opened. Make sure you tell your users that they must manually refresh each sheet.
- Select Refresh view on rotate and member selection if you want views in the workbook to be refreshed when the user rotates a view.
- (Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle Only) Select Allow Local Consolidation if local consolidation should be run from the menu.
- (Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle) Select Allow Local Consolidation if a local consolidation should run automatically when a user submits data.
- (Budgeting Only) Select Allow Detail Budgeting if Detail Budgeting employee and assets review and data entry should be available from the workbook.
- (Budgeting Only) In the Detail Budgeting URL box, specify the URL for Detail Budgeting.
- Click when finished. To ensure a secure environment, workbook properties and sensitive data stored in the workbook are encrypted.
