CPM menu
The CPM Views menu is available from the main toolbar and by right-clicking on the worksheet. It includes the same commands available from the PM Views toolbar plus additional commands. Cell-based functionality is accessed from the PM Analysis menu. View-based functionality is accessed from the CPM Views menu.
Design Mode for Views is used to create workbooks for users. When in the design mode, you can also add graphics, charts, and Excel formatting. Once you have inserted views and formatted the workbook, you should save the workbook while still in the design mode if you want to distribute the workbook to users.
Insert View inserts a view into the active worksheet. This command is enabled when in design mode.
Preserve Range Properties preserves selected properties for the data area of the view (including the on-grid member cells) when refreshing the view, reloading the view definition, moving the data area (using View Properties), or making other changes to the view. It does not preserve properties for the off-grid dimension cells. To protect off-grid dimension cells, use the Format tab on the View Properties dialog box.
Workbook Properties enables you to control the settings for the workbook that apply to all worksheets in the workbook.
Protection protects the views in the current worksheet against changes by other users. Before setting the protection, you must first unlock cells that you want to be edited by other users (inserted rows and columns and data entry cells are automatically unlocked). Protecting a worksheet still allows views to be changed using drills and rotations. If you have multiple sheets in your workbook, you need to protect each worksheet individually. The password must be the same for all worksheets in the workbook.
Clear View temporarily replaces member names and view-based data in the entire workbook with empty cells. This command is used prior to distributing workbooks for security purposes. The data and member names are restored when a user signs in. Only the view-based grid and off-grid members are cleared. Other data may not be cleared in the workbook, such as cell-based data or scenario summary sheet data.
Delete View deletes the selected view from the active worksheet. This command is enabled when in design mode. After deleting a view, you may need to click on a cell in the worksheet to enable the Insert View command. If a workbook becomes corrupt or you are working offline, a view may not delete successfully. You must manually delete the view. See the "Troubleshooting" appendix.
Reload View Definition reloads the view on the worksheet to pick up the latest changes. This command is enabled when in design mode. For the Approval Process, if the status of the data has changed since the workbook was first opened; the color of the status area for a reloaded view may not reflect the current status of the data. While Reload View Definition does not refresh the status color, it does change write-back to reflect the current status.
Refresh Worksheet Data replaces the data on the open worksheet with the values stored in the database.
Refresh Workbook Data replaces all data in the entire workbook with the values stored in the database.
Local Consolidation rolls up data in custom hierarchical dimensions and calculates database formulas and total lines in local currency. These calculations are performed for all the views in your active worksheet, in the order in which they were created on the worksheet. Unlike the Consolidate page, a local consolidation does not translate data or roll up data in the Unit dimension. Once database formulas have been calculated, total lines are refreshed to include any changes due to database formulas. This command is for Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle data sources.
Detail Budgeting signs you into CPM Workstation, using the URL defined in Workbook Properties. This is for Budgeting applications.
Insert/Delete enables you to insert or delete rows or columns on the worksheet.
Dimension Configuration opens the Dimension Controller dialog box. This dialog box enables you to rotate dimensions within the view. Dimensions can be rotated if the administrator has allowed rotation for the view. For Analysis Services applications, even virtual dimensions can be rotated.
Drill Mode is enabled only when you click on a dimension member, not on the grid. This allows you to select a different drill mode for different on-grid dimensions. Use the Drill Mode command to control how the drills function by right-clicking on the column or row header and selecting one of the options.
Omit Missing enables you to hide rows or columns that contain no data without removing them from the database.
Show Cell Notes provides commentary on your data for another user. For example, you could write a note to your controller regarding why a value is dramatically above or below budget.
User Preferences enables you to set the URL for the web service.
Connect to/Disconnect from Server connects to or disconnects from the specified server.
