Signing in

Your administrator should have sent you one or more workbooks for data entry purposes. When you open Excel to connect to the server or open an Excel Services workbook, you are automatically prompted to sign in with a user name and password.

If your workbook supports the Approval process, you must sign in as an authorized submitter for the Approval process to be able to specify data. The workbook opens with read-only data for unauthorized users.

If you have a workbook open and try to open a second workbook with one or more views in common, you cannot open the second workbook

If the Login dialog box does not display due to a server connection failure, specify the URL for the web server and the Decision web service using the User Preferences command. Then connect to the server using the CPM Views toolbar.

Warning: If multiple instances of the same view are open by the same user, there is a risk that data could be lost or saved to the wrong unit. This can happen when different data slices are selected for the view. The web server saves data to whatever data slice was changed last. Close any other instances of the same view before specifying data.
