Hiding rows and columns

Using the Omit Missing commands, you can hide rows or columns that contain no data without removing them from the database. Select from these commands:

  • By Column hides all columns with no data from the view.
  • By Row hides all rows with no data from the view.
  • None restores any columns or rows with no data previously hidden from the view.

The Omit Missing setting must be specified in View Manager if you intend to distribute the workbook to other users. The Omit Missing command in Excel Services is only available outside of design mode and is only set for the current user. If you set Omit Missing using the CPM Views menu, saving the workbook, and then distributing the workbook, users will not see your drill mode setting when they open the workbook. The data areas revert to the view definition settings.
