Specifying the drill mode
Some views allow you to drill up or down through the members of the on-grid dimensions. The
command is enabled only when you click on a dimension member, not on the grid. This enables you to select a different drill mode for different on-grid dimensions. Use the command to control how the drills function by right-clicking on the column or row header and selecting one of these options:- Drill. When you double-click a header cell containing a parent member, the grid expands to display the members' children. Double-click the header cell again to contract the grid. If the cell member has no children, the grid will not expand.
- Replace. When you double-click a header cell containing a parent member and the children are not already displayed on the grid, the members for that dimension are replaced with the parent that you select and its children. The display will consist of one parent and its immediate children. When you double-click the header cell containing the parent member again, the children disappear from the grid and are replaced by other parent members, if any, in the dimension.
- Member Select. When you double-click a header cell in the grid, the Member Selection dialog box is displayed, instead of the grid expanding or contracting. This dialog box enables you to specify which members you want to appear on the grid.
This command is disabled if you reconnect to the server after disconnecting. To enable the command, refresh the worksheet and click on a cell in the data area or an on-grid member.
