Enforcing salary limits on global events
You can set the start of the fiscal year to a month other than January on the Global tab (for example, a budget based on a fiscal year starting in June). To properly calculate reaching the salary ceiling for events such as FICA, seeding your budget with existing employees must use January as the start date for the existing employee - or the actual start date, if later than January of the current year. If you seed existing employees with start dates at the beginning of the fiscal year, then the FICA ceiling is calculated as if they were new employees at the start of the fiscal year, not taking into account the prior months of the calendar year.
If an employee is transferred mid-year, then the FICA ceiling is calculated as though the transferred employee in the destination member was a new employee.
