Detail Budgeting for sub-leaf periods

Although Detail Budgeting is based on 12 or 13 periods (leaf level), it supports selection of sub-leaf periods, such as daily or weekly. For example, you could set up your application to specify data on a daily or weekly level and still be able to specify Detail Budgeting data on the monthly leaf level.

Before using sub-leaf periods, there are certain adjustments to make in your application, depending on your data source type.

Best Practice: When setting the focus range, make sure the sub-leaf periods selected for the start period and end period span entire months, not partial months. By default, if the focus range includes any portion of a month, that entire month is considered in focus for Detail Budgeting. For example, if you select Week1 for the start period and Week3 for the end period, the entire month of January is in focus (for a calendar year). If you select Week1 for the start period and Week5 for the end period, since the fifth week includes part of February, both January and all of February are in focus.
