Map Detail Budgeting data

The Mapping tab is used to map the total monthly data from a Detail Budgeting view to schedule lines in your Budgeting database. Once a mapping is set up, Detail Budgeting data is automatically entered into the mapped schedule line when budget holders specify their Detail Budgeting data.

Keep these rules in mind:

• You can map data to a monthly schedule, and then consolidate the schedule to create values in Total Year. You cannot map Detail Budgeting data to a yearly schedule (Detail Budgeting does not store yearly totals).
• When a budget holder specifies Detail Budgeting data that is mapped to a schedule line in a view, the updated data is not displayed on the view until it is refreshed (views are not refreshed automatically).
• These line types are available for mapping:
  • D (data entry)
  • F (formula)
  • C (cell formula)
  • F (custom member formula)
• Data entry lines display in black. Formula lines display in red.
• If you map data to a formula line, and a schedule that includes the formula line is consolidated, the mapped data is overwritten by the results of the formula.
• You can map any Detail Budgeting view except the Employee Summary view because it is not defined in Detail Budgeting Administrator.
