Ownership process
If your corporate structure involves investors and subsidiaries, there are two different ways to roll financial data up the Unit hierarchy:
- Method 1: Enable the Ownership process when upgrading or building your database. This process enables you to automatically calculate different ownership percents for individual periods and to streamline Ownership journals to eliminate investment and equity detail.
- Method 2: Managerial Ownership
modified the Ownership process in this manner. You can place units anywhere in
Architecture unit structure. Their results are rolled into their direct parent at 100%
if the first holding company parent is not at the same organization structure level. The
Managerial Ownership approach modifies this by:
- Not accumulating a unit's results into its Architecture structure parent if the holding company is not an ancestor of the parent.
- Calculating and using the first holding company's ownership percentage.
- Method 3: Manually specify or load ownership percents for the Unit dimension in Group Hierarchy in Architect. This method uses the same ownership percent for all periods. See the Infor CPM Administration Guide for details.
This chapter discusses Method 1 (the Ownership process). For information on how the currency translation adjustments are calculated for the Ownership process, see CTA in the Ownership Process.
