Currency translation

Standard and Standard PL-BS journals are entered and posted in local currency for standard schedule lines. During consolidation, the data is translated and posted to the consolidated currency.

Intercompany lines in Standard or Standard PL-BS journals are entered in translated currency. A consolidation back-translates these amounts to local currency when consolidating local data, posts adjustments using these local values, and then translates and posts for the currency requested by the consolidation.

Intercompany Eliminations journals are created in translated currency and optionally created in local currency. These amounts are posted during a consolidation.

Acquisition journals are entered and posted to both local and translated currencies. The data is not translated during a consolidation because it is important to preserve the currency value originally entered.

Reference journals, Reclassification, and Ownership journals are applied only to translated currency.
