Beginning/Opening balance lines
A beginning balance line is a schedule line that gets its value from the ending balance line of the periodicity's prior period. Its value changes over each period because of movement lines that contribute to the prior period's ending balance.
A opening balance line is an account that stores the consolidated results from the period prior in the periodicity definition. It enables you to you store amounts to populate beginning balance lines.
A consolidation carries forward prior-period balance sheet values differently for beginning balance lines than for opening balance lines.
