Examples

This example shows three levels under the selected member (HQ) of the Unit Organization dimension.

If the level depth consolidation starts at level 2, then the scope of the consolidation includes the selected member, HQ, and all the members of level 1 and level 2. The unboxed members (level 3) are outside the scope of the consolidation. The level 2 members Canada, China, and France are virtual leaf members that are required to be consolidated prior to running the level depth consolidation.

  • The in-scope leaf members in level 2 are New York, Los Angeles, Brazil, CTRAIN US Eliminations, London, Germany, and CTRAIN UK Eliminations. The in-scope leaf member in level 1 is HQ Total Eliminations. Toronto, Vancouver, Canadian Eliminations, Beijing, Shanghai, Paris, and Lyon are considered out-of-scope leaf members.
  • The in-scope leaf members are not required to be consolidated prior to running the level depth consolidation.
  • If the in-scope leaf members in levels 1 and 2 have not been previously consolidated, then the SuppressLeafProcessing parameter should be set to 0. This initiates a currency consolidation of all in-scope leaf members prior to executing the level depth consolidation.
  • If the in-scope leaf members have been consolidated already, then the SuppressLeafProcessing parameter should be set to 1 to prevent reconsolidating these members.
  • The level depth consolidation starts at level 2.
  • This starting level consists of in-scope leaf members and virtual leaf members.
  • The virtual leaf members are Canada, China, and France. They are the parent members on the starting level of the consolidation. Their children (in level 3) are outside the scope of the consolidation and are not processed.
  • Neither the virtual leaf members nor their children are consolidated in a level depth consolidation. Therefore, a currency consolidation is run for Canada, China, and France prior to the level depth consolidation. Their consolidated results are used as input data for the level depth consolidation.
  • Level 1 includes parent members CTRAIN Inc. (US) and CTRAIN Ltd. (UK) and an in-scope leaf member, HQ Total Eliminations.
  • The parent members in level 1 are always consolidated. The consolidation computes data for these members using results from the previously consolidated virtual leaf members in level 2 and the consolidated (or previously consolidated) results of the in-scope leaf members of level 2.
