Monitor views

The Monitor Views page enables you to see which views are being accessed. The page shows:

  • View name
  • User name
  • Idle time
  • Data source name

A view is an initial data configuration controlling how the data should be displayed. The view information is configured using View Manager and stored in the views database. When a page is loaded by a browser, and the initial data requests are made back to the Decision service, the service checks to see if it already has the requested view loaded for the requesting user. If not, a new view is created for the user in the Decision service memory and the initial settings for the requested view are loaded from the views database. From that point until the view is unloaded from memory, all requests for that particular view from that particular user are handled from the view stored in the Decision service memory. Changes made to the view in the views database do not show up in the view until it is reloaded.

Styles are shared by all loaded views that use a given style. To see changes to a style, all views referencing that style must be unloaded. The easiest way to see changes is to unload all views.

Note: For view names beginning with @, =, +, and -, see Data source and view names display.
