Navigation Groups
You can secure CPM Workstation by user down to the page level through navigation groups.
The Navigation Database Creation utility automatically creates a Navigation Administration group. This group is used to restrict access to the Navigation Administration page. Only users in this group can access the Navigation Administration page. When you run the Navigation Database Creation utility, your user ID is automatically added to the Navigation Administration group.
The default Navigation Administration menu command is linked to the Navigation Administration group. The permissions for the Navigation Administration group cannot be unchecked for this menu item.
The Navigation Database Creation utility also creates four Strategy Management navigation groups for SQL Server. These navigation groups are based on Strategy Management roles. The navigation groups are for Administrators, Planners, Readers, and Suppliers.
The sample applications have predefined navigation groups based on roles to illustrate how to filter the navigation for different groups of users.
