Navigation database
You can import content from an existing Navigation 10.4.x database. The source and target navigation databases must be the same version.
To import a navigation database:
- Open the Navigation Administration page.
- Click the Import Navigation tab.
- Select .
- Select the database type.
- Specify the user name to log into the source 10.4.x Navigation database.
- Specify the password for the database user.
- Specify the name of the database server where the source 10.4.x Navigation database resides. If a SQL instance is used, it must be appended to the name.
- Click to populate the schema list with databases you can access.
- Select the name of the source 10.4.x Navigation database schema.
- Choose the import option: Import All or Manual Selection. Manual Selection displays a list of navigation items in the source navigation database for selection.
- Click .
- Navigation Import copies navigation groups associated with the selected navigation items to the destination database. The users assigned to the group are also copied. Navigation Administration, Strategy Management Administrators, Strategy Management Planners, Strategy Management Readers, and Strategy Management Suppliers groups are not copied.
- Selecting a folder for import copies the folder and all items below to the base level of the navigation structure.
- Selecting a page for import automatically copies the selected item and its ancestors.
- If available, translation of navigation items are also copied.
- The administrator can choose to manually remove or leave some navigation items and groups from the destination database after the import.
