Defining indicators
An indicator is a graphic element showing the gauge value. In radial gauges, the indicator can be a needle or a marker. In linear gauges, the indicator can be a filler or a marker.
To define indicators:
- On the Style tab, in the Indicator group, click the dialog box launcher.
- Select the Use constant value check box to override the database gauge value.

Type list:
Option Description None No indicator is used. Needle This type is present only for redial gauges. When selected, the Style list is populated with needle styles. Filler This type is only present for linear gauges. When selected, the Style list is populated with filler styles. Marker When selected, the Style list is populated with marker styles. - From the Style list, select an indicator style.
- Specify the size of the indicator in a range of 20 (smallest) to 100 (biggest). This box is enabled for needle and marker type indicators. The filler type indicator does not have a configurable size.
- Select the Use zone color check box if you want the indicator to use the color of the zone it is pointing to.
- In the Tooltip Text box, specify the text to use as the tooltip. If you want to display the gauge value, specify %v. A tooltip is a small window which pops up when the mouse is hovered over the gauge indicator, typically to display the gauge value.

Select the number format for the tool tip. You can choose from:
Option Description Numeric This option converts the gauge value to a real number. Currency This option places a currency sign in front of the number. Percentage This option converts the gauge value to a percentage (multiplied by 100). A percent sign is placed after the number. Scientific This option converts the gauge value to scientific notation. - Specify the number of Decimals to use in the tool tip value format.
