Adding a views connection - Oracle

To add a CPM Views connection for an Oracle database:

  1. On the Manage Data Sources page.
  2. Click New and select CPM Views as the connection type.
  3. Specify a name for the data source. Use DecisionViews as the name for the CPM Workstation active views database.
  4. Select ViewDatabase as the category.
  5. Select Oracle.
  6. Specify the user name of the schema owner. Tip: Avoid using an Oracle user with DBA privileges other than for testing the connection.
  7. Specify the password for the administrator user.
  8. Specify the name of the host computer on which the Oracle software is installed.
  9. Specify the name of the Oracle service.
  10. Specify the port number. The default is 1521.
  11. Specify the TNS name. This name is required and must be set up in the tnsnames.ora file. The TNS name in the tnsnames.ora file includes the host name, service name, and port number for each TNS name.
  12. Select the database to connect to the data source. If necessary, click Refresh to update the list of available databases.
  13. Select the appropriate dialect. We recommend you keep the default value of 10g. This option is valid for Oracle 10.2.0.5, 11.1.0.7, and 11.2.0.2.
  14. Click Test Connection.
  15. Click Save.
