Adding a zone

Chart zones enable you to define ranges within a chart style to highlight areas within a chart. For example, you can use zones to show several KPIs at once within a single visualization. In addition to zones, constant lines can be defined to highlight targets or thresholds.

The options on this tab are enabled and disabled depending on the chosen type. When you first open this tab, all options are disabled. To enable the options, choose an existing zone/constant line or click Add to create a zone or constant line.

To add a zone:

  1. On the Chart tab, in the Zones group, click Zones.
  2. Click Add.
  3. In the Name box, specify the name of the zone.
  4. Click OK.
  5. From the Type list, select Zone.
