Adding a Microsoft SQL Server connection
To add a generic Microsoft SQL Server connection:
- On the Manage Data Sources page.
- Click and select Microsoft SQL Server as the connection type.
- Specify a name for the data source. The name must be unique.
- Select Model as the category.

To define the Relational Connection:
- Select the authentication type for users. End User Authentication specifies how the user connects to the CPM model. Select the Database option if SQL Server authentication is used to sign in to CPM. Select the Integrated option if Windows authentication is used to sign in to CPM.
- Specify the user name of the database owner.
- Specify the password for the administrator user.
- Specify the name of the server computer on which the SQL Server software is installed. If a SQL instance is used, it must be appended to the name. For example, MyServerName\SQL2019.
- Select the database to connect to the data source. If necessary, click to update the list of available databases.
