Page features
Properties tab
Shows the attributes of the selected member.
- ID. The member ID. Member IDs can be changed when the member is new (not yet checked in). After the structure has been checked in, the member ID number cannot be changed.
- Name. The name of a member.
- Description. The description of a member. Some applications allow members to have both names and descriptions that can be viewed in end-user applications. For example, an application may use names that are actually ID numbers and descriptions that are text. Administrators may prefer to view the names (ID numbers) while end users may prefer to view the descriptions (text).
- Group. This field identifies
which group a member within a dimension belongs to. This is a read-only field in the
Schedule dimension and in flat dimensions.
Changing a member's group assignment can result in dropped relationships with other members. Typically, dropped relationships occur when a member retains no parent in any hierarchy. That member is then referred to as orphaned and will not be viewable within the Members in Hierarchy window. For orphaned members, relationships must be re-established within the Group Hierarchy window.
- Attributes. A list of the member's attributes. This is dimension specific.
Parents tab
Shows the parents of the selected member. This changes depending on the dimension selected and the member in the hierarchy that is selected.
Note: Parents cannot be assigned to a member in a top group.
