Process pages

The process pages use specific views in the view database to provide parameter information. This section describes the sample views that control processes such as Consolidation. Some views apply to only one application, while others apply to both. Each section includes guidelines for the view and how to customize the sample view.

Because applications are customizable and some dimensions are optional, your dimension names are likely to be different from those listed here.

We do not recommend that you share views between dissimilar pages as this can lead to incorrect results. There are some pages that can share a view and this is detailed in the description on setting up the page.

For all the views for all the process pages, set the allowed members to control the members that the users can see. Off-grid and on-grid members control the default selections.

Period-to-date note

For relational applications, process pages such as Consolidation and Start New Year that specify the Accumulation Method dimension must disallow period-to-date members. If these members are allowed, users will receive errors if they run the task and the member is in the selection. this restriction does not apply to data entry and reporting views.

Dummy top members

For relational applications, any process page that uses the Schedule, Period, Year (unmerged) or Period/Year (merged) dimensions must disallow the dummy top members (Schedule.Master, Period, Year or Period Year). If these members are allowed, users receive errors when the task is and the member is in the selection.

Naming restrictions

Do not use special characters such as commas, single quotes, double quotes, ampersands, equal signs, or pound signs when naming views or pages.
