Balanced attribute
To ensure the accounting intelligence of the system, each schedule line has a Balanced attribute. This attribute indicates if a line is double-sided or single-sided.
For journals, this means that the application can enforce balanced journals while also allowing journal entries to statistical lines that are unbalanced.
The Balanced attribute defaults to double-sided (Y) for scheduled lines defined as these account types:
- Balance Sheets, Assets (BA)
- Balance Sheets, Liabilities (BL)
- Balance Sheets, Equities (BE)
- Profit & Loss, Revenues (PR)
- Profit & Loss, Expenses (PE)
Schedule lines assigned an Account Type of Balance Sheets, Statistic (BS) or Profit & Loss, Statistic (PS) default to single-sided (N) for lines that have statistical information such as headcount and square footage. The administrator can change the balanced attribute at any time.
This attribute is set within Architect from the Members in Hierarchy page for the Schedule dimension.
