Adding new members

You can define members in Architect or on the server using batch structure updates. Usually, the recommended method is to add members in batches. Using Architect, you can add new members, and the attribute values if relevant, for subsequent changes after your initial structure is in set in place.

To add a member:

  1. Check out the dimension to be modified.
  2. Select the dimension and group to add the new member.
  3. From the Members pane, select the member that will be the parent or sibling of the new member.
  4. Select the required action:
    • Add Sibling Member. The new member is added below the selected member.

    • Add Child Member. The new member is added to the bottom of the list of other child members.

    • Copy Member. The new member is copied from an existing member and is added below the selected member.

  5. In the Properties tab, specify this information:
    ID
This is optional. If not specified, a system-generated ID is assigned to the member. See the "ID Range" section in the Infor CPM Architect User Guide.
    Name

Name of the new member. This can be up to 40 characters. For Period dimension, the name can contain up to 15 characters and for the Year dimension the name can contain up to 10 characters.

    Description
Member description. This can be up to 255 characters.

You can use the Group option to assign the member to a group. By default, the new member is assigned to the same group as its siblings.

  6. Assign the appropriate attributes to the member. Each dimension has different attributes.
  7. Click Save.
