Setting the column width and row height
You can set the column width and row height manually or you can select to have it done automatically. You can specify the column width and row height for these items:
- Grid
- Members
- Attributes
You can also specify the row header width for the grid through the Dimensions tab. The width and height options on the Dimensions tab override the options on the Grid tab.
To set the column width and row height:
- Click the Grid tab.

Option Description Fit to Contents This option adjusts the column to fit the longer of the column heading or the largest number. This is the default. Fit to Number This option adjusts the column to fit the largest number and wraps the column heading. The minimum column width is 7.27 characters (61 pixels) when set to Fit to Number. Fixed Width This option opens the Rows and Columns dialog box where you specify how many characters wide you want the column. -

Option Description Fit to Contents This is the default. Standard The height of a standard row is about the height of the text in the row. 1.5 x Standard This option is one and a half times the height of a standard row. 2 x Standard This option is twice the height of a standard row. Other This option opens the Rows and Columns dialog box where you can specify a value. -
For the grid, click
Row Header Width More and
select from:
Option Description Fit to Contents This option sets the row header width to the longest name or description. Fixed Width This option opens the Rows and Columns dialog box where you can specify how many characters wide you want the row header. Click the Wrap check box to wrap the line after the specified number of characters. - If the Rows and Columns dialog box is open, click .

For grid styles, all row and column options are available in the Rows and Columns dialog box, which is opened with the dialog box launcher in the Rows | Columns group.
