Positioning the gauge labels

A label is a number appearing next to the scale on major tick marks defined by the scale steps. Tick marks are the small lines dividing the scale. Minor tick marks divide the scale between major tick marks.

  1. On the Style tab, in the Scale group, from the Label Position list, select the position of the labels in relation to the scale bar.
    Option Description
Hide Select this option to turn off labels.
Above Select this option to have the labels appear above the bar, between the bar and the border.
Center Select this option to have the labels appear on the bar.
Below Select this option to have the labels appear below the bar, between the bar and the cap.
  2. From the Label Layout list, select the orientation of the scale labels.
    Option Description
Horizontal Select this option to have labels always appear left to right. Labels are never rotated.
