Affiliated Unit

The Affiliated Unit dimension is a virtual dimension derived from the Unit dimension. It contains leaf units that have the Elimination Status attribute set to Affiliate (A) indicating that the unit is involved in the intercompany process. Parent members are included to facilitate finding the affiliated unit. The following rules are used for constructing the affiliated unit dimension.

• The affiliated unit dimension includes each unit hierarchy.
• If a hierarchy branch does not have a unit with an elimination status of A, it is not included.
• A consolidation node can also have an elimination status of A.
• A consolidation node with an elimination status of A and no leaf members with an elimination status of A becomes the leaf for that hierarchy branch.
• Any unit, leaf or consolidation node, has read write status if the elimination status is A.
• Any consolidation node that is part of the hierarchy to get to an affiliated unit has read only status.
• Write back is not allowed when the unit and the affiliated unit are the same.
