Reordering members

You can reorder dimension members, schedules, or schedule lines.

You can click and drag one or more members to move them within the hierarchy, as long as multiple members are at the same level. You can:

  • Move the members as siblings or children to the selected location.

This changes the parent relationships or the order of the members.

  • Reorder the members as siblings or children.

You can reorder members within all dimensions (except Period) by dragging the member and dropping it at the new location. Depending on the relationship of the selected members to the target member, you may have a reorder as a sibling or as a child.

Reordering as a sibling makes the selected members to become siblings of the target member, in the order in which they were selected. Reordering as a child makes the selected members to become the children of the target member, in the order in which they were selected.

  • Copy members in the Schedule dimension as siblings or children.

Rearranging considerations

Rearranging members depend on the dimension type:

  • You can only reorder members in flat dimensions such as currency, year, etc.
  • You can move, copy, or reorder members in hierarchical dimensions.
  • You can move, reorder, or copy members in the Schedule dimension. If you copy a Schedule line, its attributes are copied.
  • You cannot rearrange members in the Period dimension.

When you select the option to use, the members are placed below the member where the cursor is located, as siblings or children.
