Managing BOD shredding

The CPM BOD service checks for incoming BODs and processes them when it is actively monitoring the inbox. If inbox monitoring is disabled, the BOD messages are received and queued up to be processed when inbox monitoring is enabled again.

Switching the inboxMonitoring property from enabled to disabled also snapshots the journal detail available for drill through from CPM.

After a full set of BODs has been processed, it is important to prevent further BOD processing by disabling inbox monitoring before running the following tasks:

  • Using Model Builder to create a model.
  • Using Import Wizard to import structure.
  • Using OpenLink to load data.

This is to ensure that you have a known set of synchronized structure and financial data to load into the CPM model.

To enable or disable BOD inbox monitoring:

  1. Open the Set Properties page.
  2. Go to the inboxMonitoring line.
  3. From the Value column, select the check box to enable BOD processing. Clear the check box to disable BOD processing.
