Security issues
Data entry view
You can customize an existing data entry view or create a new data entry view to support Worksheet detail data entry. A few issues should be considered.
- We suggest setting up the view in to disable writeback to the lines on the data entry forms that are enabled for Worksheet detail data entry to force users to specify data only on the Worksheet entry form.
- Users must be notified as to which lines have been set up to allow Worksheet detail data entry. You can use color-coding or text formatting for the enabled lines for this purpose.
- In a nested down dimension, the data entry view must have the worksheet members in the innermost down dimension.
- Dimension groups are not supported.
Allow detail lines
The Schedule and Custom dimensions support Worksheet detail data entry.
Worksheet detail data entry lines always all leaf periods. Regardless of the data entry view, when using the Worksheet detail data entry page, leaf periods are always across. For applications on relational data sources, only a single year is supported.
Worksheet detail data entry lines do not merge period and year.
Make sure all of the period/year members in the view use the same year. If you have period/year members across the grid, the Worksheet detail data entry uses the year of the member in the selected column. If an entire row is selected, the year of the middle column is selected.
Test the application
- On the data entry view, select one of the lines available for detail data entry.
- From the Select an Action list, select Worksheet.
- Specify the data.
- When finished, save the data to the database.
- Return to the data entry view.
