ZeroSuppression
The ZeroSuppression parameter determines whether or not to suppress the insertion of new records that contain a mixture of zero and null values. These settings are available:
Value | Description |
---|---|
0 | Inserts records containing a mixture of zero and null values |
1 | (Default) Suppresses records containing a mixture of zero and null values. By default, on the Set Properties page, the check box for this parameter is selected. |
Using the value of 1 prevents new customers from populating databases with large numbers of records with zero or null values when in the early stages of development.
This parameter affects only reported data. It has no effect on adjustments, because zeroes are used by the journal reconciliation process. Net adjusted data is similarly unaffected, because zeroes are significant in net records.
A consolidation can result in updating existing records in the database with null or zero values. The ZeroSuppression parameter does not affect updating existing records, only inserting new records.
