Assign exchange rates to a member of a category dimension
You can assign exchange rates to a particular member of a category dimension. For example, if you have different exchange rates that you want to use based on products, then the category products would be both financial and exchange rate data.
Random currency symbol | Exchange rate | Product |
---|---|---|
RCS | Exchange Rate of 1.62 | Product One |
RCS | Exchange Rate of 1.63 | Product Two |
RCS | Exchange Rate of 1.68 | Product Three |
RCS (random currency symbol) is any given currency.
This allows you to set up only one unit with a currency of RCS, but apply different exchange rates based on the category dimension. In this example, if you were to enter sales by Product and had 100 in local currency, then the RCS would be 162 for Product One, 163 for Product Two, and 168 for Product three.
