Importing hierarchical and schedule dimensions from a table

  1. From the Source list, select Table. Click the ellipsis button to open the Datasource dialog box.
  2. Select or create a data source. If you are creating a data source, you need to fill in the properties. Detailed information about each property is shown on the dialog box. When done, click Next. The Table dialog box opens.
  3. Select a catalog from the list and click OK.
  4. Select a table from the list and click OK.
  5. From the Available fields list, select the columns you want and move them to the Selected fields list. The columns in the Selected fields list appear on the Columns tab where they can be mapped. Use the arrow buttons to move fields between the lists. When done with your selections, click OK to return to the Table dialog box.
  6. Optionally you can define a filter for each column. Click OK to return to the Map Dimension dialog box.
  7. Complete these steps:
    1. Drag the required properties and attributes to the appropriate destination column. Required properties and attributes are displayed in red and have a Y in the Req. column.

      If all members in the structure file use the same attribute, you can use the Default Value column to select the attribute instead of including it in the import file.

    2. Click Next.
  8. Repeat the steps above. The Preview Mapping Specification dialog box is displayed where you can verify the structure.
