Additional information on schedule lines

  • All lines that make up a beginning balance suite should be balance sheet accounts (their AccountType attribute should be BL or BA, depending on whether it is a Balance Sheet Asset or a Balance Sheet Liability).
  • If a line is included on more than one schedule, we recommend that the schedules have the same periodicity. This prevents overwriting of data in periods that are entered for one schedule and derived for another. In some cases, such as when you collect data for the line every month for your actual version and every quarter for your budgeted version, this may not be an issue, since the data slice is different.
  • If a line is included on multiple schedules, be aware of the dependencies this creates. You may need to consolidate your schedules in a particular order.
  • Opening Balance and the downfoot for the Opening Balance (also known as Ending Balance) are Balance Sheet accounts. All other contributing lines to the ending balance are P&L accounts.
  • The default value for the Rate attribute is based on the translation method that was set while mapping the Rate dimension.
If the translation method was… then the Rate attribute is
P Period Rate
N None
Y Average Translation
H Historical Rate
