Assigning an action definition to multiple position definitions
You can assign an action definition to multiple position definitions. It is assigned to all position definitions or to position definitions with specific position attribute values defined as part of the definition. The Clear existing assigned action option first clears the target positions and then assigns the action definition.
To assign an action definition to position definitions
- Open the Action Definition page.
- Select an existing action definition. Only action definitions that are assigned to a position definition are used in this operation.
- Click .
- Select the assign method. Select All Position Definitions to assign the action to all position definitions. Select Position Attribute to assign the action according to selected position attributes. Carefully evaluate the impact of assigning an action to positions as it can only be removed from position definitions manually.
- Select the position attribute name. Only string attributes with predefined values are presented. This option is disabled if you selected All Position Definitions.
- Select the attribute values. You can select multiple values. This option is disabled if you selected .
- Optionally, select the Clear existing assigned action check box. This option removes all currently assigned action definitions from all position definitions matching the selection and then assigns the selected action.
- Click .
- Optionally, select additional position attributes.
- Close the dialog box when finished.
