Position Definition
The Position Definition page enables you to define and review position definitions. Position definitions control the required fields and provide default values for position assignments. You can manually specify position definitions or they can import from a source system.

Calculate | Calculate the data through all budget periods. |
Version | Select the Version member. Positions are defined by version. |

Open the details page for the definition. |
Position Name | Specify the name of the position. The name must be unique within a single version. For example, Sales Manager or Warehouse Worker. |
Position Description | Optional. Specify a description for the position. The value specified here is used as the tool tip for the position. |
Active Position | Optional. The value specified here is used as the default when adding a position assignment. |
Pay Type | Specify the pay type. |
Spread Method | Specify the spread method. |
Annual Pay Periods | Specify the number of pay periods per year. |
Annual Hours | Specify the annual hours. |
Start Date | Optional. Select the start date. |
Schedule | Optional. The value specified here is used as the default when adding a position assignment. If the position is a Step & Grade position, we recommend setting a default step & grade schedule. |
Grade | Optional. The value specified here is used as the default when adding a position assignment. |
Step | Optional. The value specified here is used as the default when adding a position assignment. |
Base Rate | Optional. The value specified here is used as the default when adding a position assignment. |
Position Note | Optional. The value specified here is used as the default when adding a position assignment. |
