Calculating premium actions

If an action definition for a premium action is applied multiple times to the same position assignment, it is treated as a single action to allow for updates to the amount/percent or hours/FTE.

For example, a premium amount shift differential action definition is applied on 2/1/12 for $5 with blank hours (base hours are used), and that same premium amount action definition is applied again on 3/1/12 for $7 with blank hours (base hours are used). If the base is $10 with hours of 40, then the periodic amounts are calculated similar to:

P01 through P12 Base Salary = 100 * 40 = 4000
P02 Shift Differential action= 5 * 40 = 200
P03 through P12 Shift Differential action = 7 * 40 = 280

Best practice recommendation is to create separate actions for each shift or type of overtime required for your budgeting purposes.
