Calculating monthly salaries with effective date Step and Grade Schedule rate changes
If a position is assigned a Schedule, Grade, and Step, and the associated Schedule rates change on a specified effective date, the salary is calculated by first taking into account the rate change on the effective date, then applying any other actions on that same date.
For example, if Position A starts with a pay rate of $10 on 1/1/2013 and the Step & Grade Schedule rate changes to $11 as of 2/1/2013, and a 5% raise action is applied on 2/1/2013, then the salary on 2/1/2013 is calculated based on a pay rate of $11.55 (5% increase of new pay rate $11).
