Load Definition
The Load Definition tab is the first step in the import process. The load definition specifies basic information regarding the source data and type of load.
These are the tab options:
Option | Description |
---|---|
Component | Shows the previously select load type. For example, Allocations or Global Settings. |
Load Name | Specify a unique name for the load definition. You can specify up to 255 alphanumeric characters. This field is required. |
Description | Specify a description for the load definition. The description is shown on the Load Definition section of the Import page. |
Source | Select the source, either a file or a database table. |
Processing Options | Select the processing options. These are the
options:
The Clear and load option deletes all existing target data in the database table as well as any dependent Workforce Budgeting data before loading the file. Dependent data can include definitions, assignments and calculated budgets that reference the data being deleted. The deleted information cannot be retrieved. Clear and load is recommended for initial loading or reloading of the Workforce Budgeting module. The Insert with Update option updates the existing records in the database table and adds new records. This is the default for a new load definition. |
Clear and Load Version | This option becomes available when the Clear and Load processing option is
selected for these load types:
The Clear and Load Version
option limits the workforce budgeting data to be cleared from the
database and further limits the data to be imported from the source. By
default, the All Versions
option is selected.
