Configuring the cell-based web service

  1. Open the Datasource Wizard. Click Configure to show the CBRService Configuration dialog box. If the CBRService virtual directory uses Basic or Anonymous authentication, the CBRService Configuration dialog box opens simultaneously when the Datasource wizard opens for the first time, thereafter, click Configure to access the dialog box.
  2. The default URL for the cell-based web service points to the local host for the cell-based web service. Replace localhost with the name of the CPM server.
    • If the CBRService virtual directory uses Integrated authentication, you do not need to specify a user name or password.
    • If the CBRService virtual directory uses Basic authentication, specify valid credentials that will enable access to the web service, CBRService directory, and click OK.
    • If the CBRService virtual directory uses Anonymous authentication, for Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle only, specify valid database credentials for CPM, and click OK. If the web service does not verify credentials, the credentials are used later to access the database to get data or member information.
  3. Optionally, for proxy servers only: If the default credentials or CBRService credentials are not valid for a proxy server, the administrator is prompted for additional credentials.
