CPM analysis toolbar
The
toolbar initially shows only a menu and a button in a workbook with no datasets. After a writable dataset is loaded in a workbook, the , , , and toolbar buttons is also displayed.Design enables you to change tabs in order to add/edit datasets or insert data onto a worksheet. The menu provides these options:
Dataset allows you to create a new dataset or edit an existing dataset for a selected data source. For details, see "Adding/Editing a Dataset."
- Insert Block enables you to insert data from a selected dataset into a worksheet. For details, see "Inserting a Block of Data."
- Insert Members enables you to insert one dataset member at a time into a worksheet. For details, see "Inserting Members."
- Insert Value enables you to insert a hard-coded database value for a selected data slice into a worksheet. For details, see "Inserting a Value."
-
Save Data and Structure does not save worksheet
changes. To save worksheet changes, including changes to your datasets, you
must save the workbook using the
command from the
menu.
- The from the menu does not save user security information, and it does not save data or structure to a model.
- Before sharing workbooks that were saved using from the menu, clear the data in the workbook using the command to protect secure data from restricted users.
-
Refresh Data and Structure replaces existing data
and structure for all datasets in the entire workbook with the data and
structure stored in a model. For a CPM model, it replaces existing data (not
structure). If the data and structure changes are not saved, they will be lost
when the workbook is refreshed.
- If data is synchronized to the source model of a dataset after data has already been inserted on a worksheet, you must first refresh the worksheet to show the new data.
- protects highlighted values in the current worksheet from changing during a top down spread. For more information, see "Locking/Unlocking Cells." If no writable dataset exists in the workbook, this command is not displayed.
- Unlock removes protection for highlighted values in the current worksheet to enable values to change during a top down spread. If no writable dataset exists in the workbook, this command is not displayed.
- Set Constraints establishes upper and lower limits for any selected cell that belongs to a dataset, such as an MPCData formula or a downfoot total. Setting constraints enables you to control the parameters of a top down spread. For more information, see "Setting/Removing Constraints." If no writable dataset exists in the workbook, this command is not displayed.
