Adding or editing a dataset

Before inserting data, you must first add and define a dataset. A dataset is a local copy of selected dimension members from a CPM or Strategy Management. You can add a variety of datasets for each data source or you can use one dataset that encompasses all members.

The choice to add one large dataset or many small datasets depends on the size and scarcity of your selection. Try to include only the data that will be needed. Avoid any data slice that will not be accessed. For more information, see "Best Practices."
