Rules of operation
- The CPM Analysis sheet protection is built on top of the Excel sheet protection. By default, the CPM Analysis sheet protection uses the first two options from the Excel sheet protection. That is, it enables users the ability to select locked and unlocked cells only. You cannot grant users additional options.
- When a worksheet is protected using the CPM Analysis sheet protection, users cannot make any changes (for example, users cannot format cells, insert rows or columns, add members or values, change values, or save data). If a user attempts to change locked cells in a worksheet, an error message is displayed.
- If a formula map is protected, new formula maps generated by users are unprotected by default.
- After you specify a password to protect a worksheet, you cannot change the password unless you first unprotect all the worksheets in the entire workbook. At that time, you can choose a different password or choose to not use a password. Alternatively, you can also exit the workbook without saving the protection and password information if you do not want to use the password.
