Inserting a block of data
- Click the Insert Block tab.
- Select any dataset from the menu.
- Click one cell on the worksheet to be the starting point for inserting the data, if a range of cells is selected, the data will be inserted in the first cell of the range. The selected cell, whose cell address is displayed in the gray text box on the tab, will become the upper left point of the inserted block of data.
-
Select the option for each off-grid dimension that should show on the worksheet. By
default, any dimension that includes multiple members is selected.
If more than one member is allowed for a displayed off-grid dimension, the default member is underlined. Click the underlined member to open the Member Selection dialog box to change the member.
-
Select the Create Database Formulas
check box to insert the database Excel formulas rather than MPCData formulas for
displaying your values. Inserting Excel formulas enables you perform top down spread
to leaf members. Database Excel formulas can additionally be analyzed or mapped. The
only time you may want to clear this check box is when you insert a block of data
that only has data at the top of an on-grid hierarchy.
- Only purely mathematical formulas can be created in the workbook. Formulas that include a relationship type of function, such as MemberIs or DescendantOf, cannot be created.
- Your dataset must be writable to show this option on the tab.
- Click Insert.
- Optionally, change an off-grid member and/or select a different dataset and then insert another block of data into the same worksheet. Additionally, you can insert individual members and values.
- Optionally, format the plan such as adding bold text, changing font, adding borders, moving data, and deleting unwanted rows or columns.
