Exploring the data

Use the Explore Data activity to visualize the data in various plot types. Visualization helps you analyze, understand, and find correlations in the data before or after the transformations are applied.

These plot types are available:

  • Line plot: Find relationships between two data sets on different axes. The data is displayed as a series of data points connected by line segments.
  • Area plot: Graphically display quantitative data.
  • Bar plot: Present categorical data in rectangular bars with heights or lengths proportional to the values they represent.
  • Scatter plot: Display values for two variables for a set of data. The data is displayed as a collection of points.
  • Correlation heatmap: Show correlation coefficients between two variables. The strength of the color of each cell corresponds to the correlation magnitude. The higher correlation is displayed in stronger color.
  1. Select a quest.
  2. Drag and drop the Explore Data activity box to the canvas.
  3. Select the Explore Data activity.
  4. Click the (+) button to add a plot. Select a plot type and specify the values required.
  5. Click Save.
  6. Click Run.
  7. Click the output port to view the plots. When multiple plots are configured, each is presented in a separate tab.
You can download the plots as a .pdf file.
