Using column selectors

Use column selectors to modify a report by selecting a different combination of attributes and measures. You can design a report so that dashboard users can select from a list that changes the information in the report. For example, to view sales by year, by category type, or by region. This enables the dashboard user to perform simple ad hoc analysis.

Attributes, measures, and expressions can be assigned additional columns for selection in a dashboard.

  1. From the Designer report, select Column Selector.
  2. Select a column.
  3. Select the additional measures, attributes, or expressions so that users can select them when viewing the report from the dashboard.
  4. Click Done.
  5. When you view this report in a dashboard, select Dashlet Actions > Column Selector.
  6. Select a column.

    All changes are applied to the dashboard.

  7. Close the Column Selector window. The report is displayed with the column.
