Designer report settings

To make changes to the report settings, click the Report Settings icon and select an option from the menu. This table shows the report settings that are available for each menu:

Menu Settings
Properties Use to determine how the content for several features on the report. The Properties menu contains these items:
  • Report Title: Shows the title of the report.
  • Show page counter in footer: Shows the number of result pages for the report. If set to on, the current page number on the report results is followed by a '/' with the total page count in the footer. For example, '7/9' in the page footer would indicate the current page number is 7 and out of 9 total pages.
  • Page Count Color: Shows the color of the page count number in the report footer in the Designer display.
  • Show Table: Shows the results table on the report.
  • Show NaN as blanks: Replaces not-a-number (NaN) values in measures and expressions with blank values.
  • Show Infinity as blanks: Replace Infinity values in measures and expressions with blank values.
  • Style Hyperlinks: Style columns with drilling applied with standard underlined blue formatting.
  • Background Color: The background color for the report in the Designer display. This option does not affect the color when exported from Designer.
  • Alternating Rows: Show alternating colors for every other row.
  • Even Row Color: The display color for even rows in the table.
  • Odd Row Color: The display color for odd rows in the table.
  • Use Flex Grid: An alternate style for table display in Designer. To ort columns, click the column header. Can only be applied to Designer reports that have not had layout changes applied usig the Layout tab or pivot control.
Layout Determine the page layout settings.

Layout menu contains these items:

  • Page Size: The size of the report page. Multiple options are available including, US letter, Legal, A2, Custom.
  • Page Orientation: Portrait or Landscape.
  • Width: The width of the page is automatically changed depending on the Page Size. If the Page Size is Custom, you can specify the width of the page in points.
  • Height: The height of the page is automatically changed depending on the page size selected. If the Page Size is Custom, you can specify the Height of the page in points.
  • Margin Size: The size of the page margins in points.
Band Properties Determine the height of the bands and set conditional display.

The width of the band is determined by the Page Size property located in Properties.

Users can set conditional display indicated by the {} icon on each band to control. See the Conditional Formatting section.

Filters Determine settings for prompt filters on exported reports. Filters menu contains these items:
  • Show Filters: Show prompt filters on exported reports.
  • Font Face: Select the font face to use for prompt filters.
  • Font Size: Select the font size to use for prompt filters.
  • Font Style: Select the font style to use for prompt filters.
  • Text Alignment: Select the text alignment to use for prompt filters.
  • Font Color: Select the font color to use for prompt filters.
  • Background Color: Select the background color to use for prompt filters.
  • Show in a dashboard: Show the prompt filter settings in the dashlet.
  • Show on one line: Shows the prompt filter settings on a single line.
  • Skip 'All': If prompts contain an All option, you can enable this setting so that the All filter is not displayed when the report is exported.
Export Determine custom settings for exports. The Export menu contains these items:
  • Separator: Specify the separator character to use for exporting the report to a CSV file. For example, comma (,), pipe (|) or tab (\t).
  • File Name: Specify the name of the file for the exported report.
  • MIME Type: Specify the Multipurpose Internet Mail Extension (MIME). For example, text/csv.
Display Band Details When enabled, this setting is used to show the details of each band in Layout Mode.
Report Query Open a dialog box to view the logical query for the report to gain access to the query log. The report query is displayed in the text box. You cannot paste a query inside this dialog box and run it. To run a logical query, you must have Space Administrator privileges and go to Query Admin in Admin 2.0.
