In-context business intelligence

In-Context Business Intelligence (ICBI) is a flexible tool that allows app content developers to create different charts and display those charts on specific pages inside another application. ICBI dynamically changes embedded analytic charts in an application based on what item or page the user has selected in that application. ICBI can change context by switching between items on a page, switching between screens, or by switching between multiple reports on the same screen. For example, ICBI can be used to set up a chart with relevant information about vendors, such as open invoice amount by dates, this chart would update the displayed information based on the currently selected vendor.

This guide explains how to set up Birst Visualizer reports and then show them in applications in Infor OS Portal or Infor Ming.le using ICBI. Prerequisites include setting up Infor OS Portal or Infor Ming.le with SAML SSO configuration and access to a provisioned Infor OS Portal or Infor Ming.le account linked to an Infor Birst space.

Use this procedure to set up ICBI using Infor OS Portal or Infor Ming.le:

1. Enable the ICBI widget.
2. Create an ICBI custom subject area in Infor Birst.
3. Create the Visualizer report.
4. Tag the selected report to show in the ICBI widget
