Drilling using Infor OS Portal or Infor Ming.le

Drilling using Infor OS Portal or Infor Ming.le refers to linking between an Infor Birst report and an application outside of Infor Birst.

The terms drill back and drill forward refer to a path based on its relation to the Infor Birst application.

Drilling is configured at the report level. For more information on report level drilling.

Drill back refers to a path from Infor Birst to an application outside of Infor Birst. Infor Birst passes the data to the parent Infor OS Portal or Infor Ming.le app to redirect accordingly.

  • Drill back supports drilling from a Infor Birst dashboard, Designer, or Visualizer report to non-Infor Birst application.
  • Drill forward does not support drilling from an embedded report to another embedded report.
  • When using a hyperlink to drill to a URL outside of Birst and Mingle, only opening in a new window is supported.

When drilling from Infor Birst to an Infor OS Portal or Infor Ming.le application, select Hyperlink and use this syntax:

'?LogicalId=ApplicationLogicalID'

For example, '?LogicalId=lid://infor.birst.birst'

Drill forward refers to the path from an outside application to Infor Birst. Infor OS Portal or Infor Ming.le holds the drilling details. Infor Birst checks with parent application if there are any drillback parameters and if they exist those parameters are applied accordingly.

These are the limitations for drilling with Infor OS Portal or Infor Ming.le:

  • Drill forward supports drilling from a link from a non-Infor Birst application to an Infor Birst dashboard.
  • Drill forward supports drilling from an Infor Birst application to another Infor Birst application.
  • Drill forward does not support drilling from an embedded report to Infor Birst.

When using drilling from an outside application to Infor Birst, select Hyperlink and use this syntax:

'?LogicalId=ApplicationId&birst.dashboard=DashboardName&birst.page=pageName'

For example, '?LogicalId=lid://infor.birst.birst&birst.dashboard=Collection&birst.page=Drillforward-page'

For example, '?LogicalId=lid://infor.birst.birst&birst.dashboard=Collection&birst.page=Drillforward-page&birst.filters=Vendor.Vendor Number:' + [Vendor.Vendor Name]
