Known issues with Designer charts

This list shows known issues with Designer charts:

  • The behavior of filters, sort, or top n results differ depending on the work flow.
    • For the Add Chart flow, Filters, Sort, or Top N Results are always inherited by the chart.
    • For the Add Chart from Other Report flow, this behavior applies:
      • If the selected Designer report has Filters, Sort, or Top N Results applied, their values are applied to the chart when it is added to the Designer report. The inherited values are not available on D-Charts.
      • When Filters, Sort, or Top N Results are applied to your Designer report, these behavior apply:
        • If filters are applied on the Designer report, then the inherited filters on the chart are overridden by the filters. The filters are available in D-charts in Filters bucket in Chart Builder.
        • If sort is applied on the Designer report, the sort does not affect the chart. D-Charts do not show anything in the Sort bucket.
        • If Top N Results are applied on the Designer report, this does not affect Top N Results on the chart. There is a known issue where the overridden Top N Results values applied on D-Charts.
  • If you navigate to different space and select Add Chart, then the subject area from the other space is also available.
  • Trellis Charts do not render when users change the direction to Vertical Trellis in Adhoc mode.

These are some prerequisuites for using conditional formatting on summary and sub summary bands:

  • When applying conditional formatting to the summary and sub-summary bands, the conditional formatting expression must exactly match the column expression or measure used to create the band. While case differences are acceptable, the expression must not include any extra whitespace.
  • When using a ratio expression in the summary band, the conditional formatting expression should follow the syntax Numerator/Denominator, ensuring there is no space before or after the division operator.
