Formatting display values

Formatting at the display values level overrides formatting at the data level. See Formatting Data in a Visualizer Chart.

Note: Some display values do not apply to charts that use percentage values, such as pie, donut, or semi-donut charts. For example, units, suffix, and currency do not apply to a pie chart, but would apply to a bar chart.
  1. Click Chart Formatting (the paintbrush icon) and then click the Display Values tab.
  2. The Chart Formatting panel opens. You can set display values for all measures or for each measure.
  3. Click All Display Values to apply settings to the entire chart.
  4. In the Text section on the All Display Values panel, specify the formats for these font elements:
    Font Face
Select the desired font face (such as Open Sans, Courier, Courier New, etc.) from the drop-down.
    Font Style
Select the font style (such as normal, italic or bold) from the drop-down.
    Font Size
Select the size for the font (for example, 12 or 14) from the drop down.
    Font Color
Select the color for the font from the drop-down.
    Text Background
If desired, select the slider to turn it on. Specify a color on the Color drop-down field. Click the Semi-transparency check box to specify transparency.
  5. Specify the Units, Suffix, Decimal Precision and Currency sign to apply to the entire chart.
  6. Click back at the top of the panel.
  7. On the Display Values panel, click any measure to apply formatting specific to that measure.
  8. Specify the Units, Suffix, Decimal Precision and Currency sign to apply to the measure.
Note: You cannot specify font formats for each measure. Use the All Display Values option to specify font formatting.
  9. Click back.
  10. Repeat the steps 8 and 9 for each measure you want to format.
  11. Click Done.
